A business owner in Indonesia sought to establish an independent online store to avoid the high fees associated with major e-commerce platforms. The goal was to develop a user-friendly, scalable online store with manual payment verification while keeping operating costs low.
Objectives
- Develop an efficient E-Commerce platform – Create a website that offers a seamless shopping experience.

Challenges
The client wanted to avoid transaction fees from big e-commerce platforms while maintaining manual payment verification—a common practice in Indonesia. Additionally, they needed a cost-effective solution that wouldn’t require ongoing platform fees but still offered the functionality of a full e-commerce store.

My approach
To achieve these goals, we built a custom e-commerce website using Bricks Builder and WooCommerce, ensuring a lightweight, scalable platform.
- Optimized for performance – Contrary to the common belief that WooCommerce is slow, we implemented image optimization, CSS & JS minification, and caching to improve load speed.
- User-Friendly payment flow – Since manual bank transfers were required, we integrated a payment upload form where customers could submit proof of payment.
- Automated order management – We implemented an email reminder system for unpaid orders, set to notify users within six hours and automatically cancel orders after 12 hours if payment was not received.
- Shipping cost calculator – Integrated a feature to calculate shipping costs based on the customer’s city within Indonesia.
- Stock management enhancements – Developed a low-stock notification system to help the business manage inventory efficiently.

This strategy was executed from the ground up utilizing Web Design, paving the way for the final results.
Results
- Successful launch & order processing – The website handled over 60 completed orders within the first two weeks post-launch.
- Improved business efficiency – The automated payment reminders and order cancellations significantly reduced manual follow-ups, saving the business time.
